Brandy

Meet my newest foster pup, Brandy! Brandy is an apricot toy poodle (looks like) of about 5 years old. She is a total sweetie! She is a snuggly, well behaved girl who just wants to be your little (very little - she's about the size of a medium cat) shadow. She's an excellent companion and would even be a good apartment dog. She's gentle and gets along well with cats, dogs, and kids. She's fully vetted but is heart worm positive, a treatable condition. Adoption fee is $250 and families must be prepared to take her with them if they leave Japan. If interested in meeting Brandy, please go to www.doggiesinc.org, read the stipulations for adoption (first) and then fill out a contact form under "available dogs/puppies".
After her jailbreak

These kittens were dumped in a shoebox in a park in Yokohama. Luckily some good people found them and got in touch with me. They are about two weeks old and will need bottle feeding. Here's hoping they survive without their mama.

Kit

This is Kit. He is a bit skittish when new people arrive, but quickly warms up to you and after spending time with him he soon becomes a super playful snugglepuss. He will curl up on the bed with me, lie at my side and knead my leg.

He loves to sleep all day and is definitely active at night. Needs someone who will give him attention and play before heading to bed at night. He is also good at entertaining himself with a toy.

This is a list of the vet treatments he has had done and his health status:
- We have had him neutered
- F3 vaccinated
- Multiple worm treatments (just to be sure) stool was negative for any parasites.
- Multiple flea treatments (when we first rescued him, our vet had to clip/shave most of his body because he had not only terrible fleas, but a bad case of cat lice that would not shampoo out). He is now CLEAR and he fur is all growing back (and it is so soft!)
- He had a full blood panel, x-ray and echo: they showed he is in very good health and he was given an antibiotic shot to treat a minor infection.
- He was underweight, but we have been feeding him high quality food and supplementing with pro-biotic and Lysine. He went from 4Kg to 4.75Kg in the first month.
- He is very good at using his litter box. Has no pee issues (he did mistake a fluffy rug for a pee place once) and his stools are regular and healthy.
- He has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. We did two tests, a month apart. We had a bit of a scare at first, but he is all clear.

He would best suit a single person or couple, or perhaps a family with older children who are experienced with cats. He might get on with another cat, but a female would be most likely the best companion.

His adoption fee is 10,000 yen. You must be prepared to have him micro-chipped and to keep him as a 100% indoor cat. I will provide the full vetting information of what he has had done (The above listed treatments cost almost 80,000 yen)
He will also come with his crate and cubby (so he feels safe in the new surroundings), scratching post, his favorite toys, litter box and whatever leftover food I have for him.

If you are interested to meet him (we are in Shiroi City, Chiba), I would love to have you come by. He is truly a beautiful boy and if were not for the fact that I have five cats of my own, he would not be leaving us. I just want him to have the best, most loving home possible. After what he has been through, he deserves it.

This is the link to his Facebook photo album from when he first turned up at our house, through when we caught him, and his progression till now.

Skippy -> Cooky

Skippy (now Cooky) has been adopted by a wonderful family in Tokyo. He will live there with his mom, dad, and two cat siblings.
From his family:
☆☆☆☆ New member of our family !! ; Cooky debut !! ☆☆☆☆

Little Bird

Update! Little Bird has been adopted and is now Miley!

Found this little in the park yesterday and picked him up today. Very talkative with his tiny little voice. (Actually not sure yet of the sex; thought it too early to ask such a personal question.) We'll be heading to the vet tomorrow and once we see what's what will be looking for an adopter.

Skippy

Skippy is a 3-4 year old male Maltese (mix?). He was pulled from a high-kill animal control facility in Okinawa by Doggies Inc. and is now being fostered in the Tokyo area. He is neutered, has had his rabies and combo vaccines, is heartworm negative, has had a fecal check (negative), and has received his first dose of Heartgard and Frontline. He is extremely friendly and would like nothing better than to crawl into your lap and cover you in kisses. He is 5~6 kg. and is very good on a leash. He is pet sheet trained but may be able to be weaned off them if he can be let out every several hours, as he does have a hard time holding it for long periods of time.

Libby

 Update: Libby has been adopted!

Libby is a 2-3 year old young lady rescued from a high-kill animal control center in Okinawa by the group Doggies Inc. Libby is probably a Silky Terrier or possibly a Silky/Yorkie mix. She is about 8-10 pounds. She is really sweet and affectionate and loves to snuggle up in a lap or in your arms. Though she's passing shy at first, she quickly warms up and loves her walks and shadowing you around the house. She is gentle and quiet and crate trained. Libby is filaria positive, which means she has heartworms. It is probably a light case as she shows no outward signs of distress (like respiratory difficulty) and is currently taking medication to slowly eradicate them. She is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Libby gets along with people, dogs, and cats, and she really loves love.

Juno

Juno was my first foster dog through Doggies Inc., the organization down in Okinawa for which I transported Miller/Bowie to the U.S. on that ill-fated trip back in September (He's so happy now! He has his own Facebook profile.).

Juno was pretty scruffy when he was brought in. He had obviously been very neglected or on the street a long time. Long matted hair, sores on his skin where the mats had gotten really bad.

After a stint down in Oki with no takers, he came up to Tokyo to try to find a home here.

Within a short period, we had made contact with an adopter who adopted cats from JCN, whose father was interested in getting a dog after losing his cherished Yorkie a year or two ago.

Mr. A had suffered from some depression, but after Juno came, he felt much better having a companion. They take care of each other.
